Got a bit of spare cash for the first time in a while this month and was looking to pick up some add-ons for FSX: Steam Edition. Just wondering what some of the better or more popular add ons are, i don't have any real preference when it comes to aircraft type, just want some new experiences beyond the default stuff. He's not hungry. X-Plane 11 and P3D v4. Note that if you want to have a good nosey about for stuff to see what is available, the Flight 1 website is worth a look, as it offers a refund policy on stuff if you are not happy.
Also worth a look at, is the Just Flight website, since it sells a lot of stuff and has a very good loyalty bonus scheme, which comes in handy of you are buying a few things, as it can save you quite a bit of money:. Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here. Best GA bizjer--Carenado Cessna Citation with loads of steam gauges and a great autopilot and cruise climb mode.

All of the above suggestions are great! Euhhh …. Why wait with expanding your experiance beyond the default stuff, untill you have spare cash to spend?? That aside: "payware" doesn't necessarily mean it's "better" then available "freeware". A good example being Maryadi's freeware MV22 Osprey addon. Besides, some really out-of-the-ordinary addons are only availble as freeware. I agree with rcbarend: "payware" doesn't necessarily mean it's "better" then available "freeware".
On some occasion I have purchased payware addons, that haave proved to be a flop for my simming experience aand frustrating for my pocket, as most companies that market these have the last say in the small writting at the end of an agreement and there are No refunds.
I have stuck by freeware and PAD is an excellent example of people that enjoy supplying us with good software and take responsability for any shortcomings, See theire fixes section. On one occasion I had a very good experience with a supporter from a Company that is well known to the community, I refrain from mentioning its' name because I don't want to seem as I am advertising. The supporter even helped me fix the addonn as they were some problems that had not been solved when marketed; It had some navigation issues which he help me correct.

Probably my favorite as far as the instrumentation. Majestic Dash-8 Q I waited a long time to get this one because it's a bit more expensive than most, but I'm glad I did. I use the 2D cockpit with this one Other than that, another winner. You just can't go wrong with a good QualityWings Another great plane from QualityWings. I don't use this one much anymore because it seems overkill for the kind of shorter flights I prefer. Hope this helps.3d printer bed leveling gcode

For my biggest plane I want to wait for the QW What are your opinions? Any others to check out? I'm no expert, what would be the best to learn on? Join Date Jun Posts For realism, definitely get the Majestic Dash 8. The Feelthere ERJ comes no where close in terms of systems programming and overall realism.
Same with the PMDGdefinitely much more realistic. For learning, though, the QW is excellent seeing as there are several different levels of systems programming you can choose from. This is a war room! Intel iM 3. Ok, I am really excited. When I get home I'll download it. I love the Q, it's a beautiful plane. For a while, though, I've been wanting to expand, mostly for diversity. I'm more of a Boeing person so, andbut I'd like to get a few Airbus if possible, preferably the A series and A A regional jet or two would be nice, too.
So, what are some of your favorite and most recommended aircraft, and why that over its competition? Also, will they work in SE? I unfortunately had to change over when I moved last summer. Since you seem to be interested in study level simulations, I have heard vague rumours that FSL offer a rather good Airbus A .
UK Beta Tester. If however you wanted to try going down the retro route, you won't do better than the A2A Constellation or their Boeing Size is not always important At the other end of the scale I can recommend a little GA ultralight aircraft:. A lovely little 2 seater imho, used in the real world for a glider tug too. Sky Simulations MD V2. The best "lite" MD money can buy well, it's not freeware! Might wanna give FlySimWare a look. They are quietly knocking out some excellent aircraft which offer a lot of fidelity to the real thing, notably their LearJet 35A and their Cessna C Conquest II, which are not only relatively inexpensive, but also very accurate in terms of simulation of systems and offer something a little different for you to fly:.
Of course if you want an A, then the FSL one is excellent although it is undeniably quite pricey, but you certainly do get what you pay for. Again if you like the idea of trying some older aeroplanes for FS, the Captain Sim Boeing and are both great fun:.
And if you fancy going over to the dark side and trying a regional turboprop, no list of recommendations would be complete without pointing out the Majestic Q Dash 8, which is available in 'pro' version and 'pilot' version, so you can choose the level of nerdiness you want to go for, although to be fair, it's fairly inexpensive in 'pro' form anyway:.
Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here. I'll second the Dash-8 from Majestic, price is right, it's light on frames and VAS, it's just great, perhaps the best piece of payware out there. You can also get the Airline2Sim training for it, which is both informative and entertaining.
You mentioned a regional jet. You might like a prop version, such as the Carenado King Air i. The following is not the best video, try to look beyond some of the things the sim pilot did:. Here is another video with more navigation information. Please overlook his mistakes, I do not believe he is a real pilot:.Every year, the simulation community manages to create new and improved aircraft and scenery for many locations around the virtual globe.
From top quality designs that perfectly portrays some of the most important airports in the world, to lesser-known aircraft that you may never have heard of, many mods exist. However, with so many options out there on the market, it can be increasingly easy to lose track of some of the most popular releases. This article specifically focuses on freeware - created by developers who work on these projects in their spare time for fun, not profit.
We have updated this article with new additions for We will add to these sections throughout the year - visit regularly to see the latest updates. You can jump to the separate sections using the links below as this article is quite lengthy:.
Amidst the development of the likes of X-Plane 11many simulation fans may have missed out on some classic Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition releases. If you still use this classic simulator as many of us still doyou may wish to look at some of the files below.
They make up some of the most impressive releases that have come to light in recent times for this classic simulator package for PC. Some of the best releases tend to be aircraft. If you would like to make your flight simulation experience a touch more dynamic, we recommend that you take a look at the following aircraft mods that fall into our Top Some may even mistake it for payware. It even works with Prepar3D - including the latest v4 P3Dv4. The aircraft has a fully working 3D virtual cockpit VCa functional FMC flight management computer and a true-to-life Rolls Royce custom sound pack included.
This is a package that has been sourced from works by various freeware developers and combined into a single release. The Boeing Dreamliner is actually one of the most requested aircraft on the site and just listed in our downloads library is a fully-featured FSX and Prepar3D v4 compatible version which consists of a compilation of mods and repaints bundled into one package.
Although, a couple of the repaints are fictional such as the Air Force One repaint. The package featured a custom sound pack, fully functional VC virtual cockpitadvanced animations compatible with the latest versions of the sim, GPWS along with checklists, manuals, and documentation.
This model is one of the finest we have seen for a while which is why we have featured it here. It has received a complete 5 out of 5-star rating from our PRO members.
At just over 24 MB it's also an easy one to download. The model developed for FSX and even works in P3D has a host of features including hi-def textures so you won't have any pixelation on the actual paint when loaded in the sim. It has many 3D perks including animated nose wheels, rudder lock, spoilers for use on the ground.
It also has a fully working 3D virtual cockpit VC that many users favor these days.
I am used to 2D panels and prefer them myself but I have noticed a shift and people now only seem to use 3D VC's. The model also has opening ground doors, fully animated rolling wheels along with night lighting full and ground service vehicles such as baggage and fuel.
We have created a featured video and loads of screenshots that you can check out on the file library page before you decide on downloading. The file also includes a full installer package so you don't have to manually install the aircraft. It began commercial flights in and continued until The first supersonic jet airliner, the Concorde was able to shuttle passengers across the Atlantic in half the time.
This is a fantastically realistic package that will give you all the help that you need in settling down into the incredibly fun virtual Concorde cockpit.Youtube premium card declined
The flight characteristics are like the real plane itself—powerful but touchy.Airports, both large and small were recreated in stunning detail, and aircraft, those well known and those of a slightly more obscure nature, were brought to life for a wide variety of simulator platforms.
Choosing what constitutes the 'best of' is extremely difficult and subjective; the reason being, we all have our own idea of what is However, never to shy away from a task and perhaps even controversythe team at FlightSim.
Com, would like to present a list of add-ons which we feel represent some of the best of I thoroughly recommend it! Want it? Buy it here. Michael Hayward thoroughly enjoyed his time with the VC10 and mentioned the following in his review:.
Thank you REX Game Studios for creating this amazing addition for the flight simulation community - Keep up the excellent work! As a classic British propeller aircraft, the Just Flight model does it proud, especially in regards to its exterior modelling and weathered cockpit. When reviewing the Handley-Page Hampden, the highly talented repainter Peter Watkins, mentioned the following in his highly positive review:.Metatrader api nodejs
The accuracy of the exterior model and the high quality of the paint kit were a big plus for me I consider it good value for money and do not hesitate to recommend it for its rarity as a WWII British bomber. If you are into old warbirds and use P3D as your simming platform, then this is a must-have add-on.
Quality sceneries are something reviewer Augusto Ferreira always enjoys, and Seattle Airports X certainly didn't disappoint him, as he mentioned the following in his review:. If you're a heavy metal fan or a GA flyer, there's enough included in this package to keep you entertained for quite some time. I have a problem with FSX and it started because a long time ago i downloaded a repaint pack for the B, and today i downloaded a diferent Switzerland again with the Lancair.

We have had many new and exciting releases duringwith some very interesting and 'different' releases. We have seen a lot of changes within our hobby duringwith new flight simulations being released, as well as being withdrawn from release, but FS has held its head up high, in spite of its age.
To remind us all of our hobby and the fun we had duringI've compiled a list representing, in my opinion, some very worthy add-ons for FS Our developers really appreciate any feedback, good or bad, so PLEASE fill in any comments in the 'Comment' section when you have downloaded.

I felt the need to re-upload it as permitted by the original author's release notessince it is pretty much the only original model by Craig that can't be found in any FS library!
Re-upload by Leonardo Santos. Complete model with panels and sounds. Full package for FS with custom panel and VC and fully animated parts. Garmin GNS avionics. Full avionics documentation included, together with aircraft check and ref lists.
Two real life liveries included. Great fun for aerobatics or general flying. Repaints by Stephanie Lawton, panel updates by Ed Wells. This aircraft is not mine. Nor the gauges. I have combined from different paths on flightsim to make this the Ultimate PA Seneca.
It has a fully functioning glass cockpit. You cannot get lost in this aircraft. All buttons work and I have modified the aircraft.Android tv box 4k india
I do not take credit for this aircraft or the gauges. I simply combined them into a panel and made it as I wanted it to be. I used to fly the PA and it was not like this one.
If you want to know how to work the glass cockpit then go onto the Garmin site.
